The Maes-Glas flock is the largest flock of Pedigree Hampshire Down Sheep in Wales. Owned and managed by Barry and Eirlys Jones, assisted by their son, Stuart.
The Farmhouse is situated in West Pembrokeshire, originally part of the Stone Hall estate. It is located approximately eight
miles from Haverfordwest and six miles from the port town of Fishguard. Having originally managed a small holding in Croes-goch,
near St Davids for twenty years; the Jones’ bought Maes-Glas in 1993. Maes-Glas is now 70 acres, surrounded by beautiful
woodland. The Maes-Glas flock was established in 1996 and is now the largest flock in Wales and one of the largest pedigree
flocks in the United Kingdom.
Our Hampshire Down Sheep Breeders Association Society Prefix is 57U.
We are Maedi Visna (MV) accredited, all sheep are Scrapie Genotyped. We are also members of both the HDSBA Sire Reference Scheme,
the SAC Scrapie monitoring scheme and the Farm Assured Welsh Livestock (FAWL) scheme. We are also full members of the
National Sheep Association (NSA).
